Shareholders can be paid dividends on their shares at a rate regulated by the Secretary of State (currently at a maximum of 5% over base rate). We believe this is a level that is sufficiently attractive to the investor but does not compromise the company’s ethos as a social enterprise (i.e. for the benefit of the community).
The company is run by a board of directors and employs qualified full and part - time employees backed up by a team of volunteers from all areas of the community. It will strive for highly ethical practices in all its activities based on Christian principles but open to all faiths and none.
We intend to be a totally sustainable and profitable business but as well as being financially accountable we will also be socially and environmentally accountable for everything we do.
It is a new type of business and our ambition is to maintain all these ethics and think carefully about all our activities.
We want to work with like-minded people and organisations with similar objectives to ourselves and we are looking for:
Private investors to buy shares and become part of our company.
Volunteers who can assist with a wide range of activities - from working out on fields with people who need help through to help in the shop, administration, transport, - anything really.
Customers for our local vegetable box delivery service, organic bread and other local produce.
